Liqui Moly Engine Oil, Lubricants, and Additives: German Quality Protection for Everybody

Liqui Moly is Germany’s most popular brand of motor oil, gear oil, and additives, but its story has an American twist. U.S. Army Air Force aircraft mechanics stationed in postwar Germany discovered that adding molybdenum disulfide, aka moly, to engine oil dramatically decreased wear in piston engines by reducing friction. It also provided lubrication to prevent damage from lack of oil, which allowed more than one airplane to limp back to base when its engine suddenly lost oil. Some enterprising Germans got wind of this discovery and in 1957 developed and patented an engine oil additive with moly for automotive use.

Today, Liqui Moly makes a whole range of mineral and synthetic engine oil, gear oil, fuel system cleaners, assembly lube, and other lubricants in Germany. Leichtlauf High-Tech Motor Oil
This fully synthetic 5W40 motor oil is formulated for modern gasoline and non-DPF diesel engines with multi-valve technology or turbochargers. MoS2 Anti-Friction Motor Oil
Available in semi-synthetic 10W-40 or mineral-based 20W-50 weights, MoS2 is formulated with molybdenum disulfide that provides a high-pressure and temperature-resistant lubricating layer to all friction surfaces. The reduced friction means less wear, lower oil temperatures and consumption, and stable oil pressure. That makes MoS2 Anti-Friction Motor Oil perfect for older air- or water-cooled gasoline engines with solid lifter camshafts.

DPF Protector and Diesel Purge
Liqui Moly Truck Series DPF Protector reduces formation of soot during engine operation to reduce clogging of the DPF particulate filter system. That improves engine performance and reduces emissions.

Added to your diesel engine’s fuel filter housing, Liqui Moly Diesel Purge quickly cleans fuel systems and injectors to help restore lost power caused by deposits and eliminate knocking, pinging, and exhaust smoke.

DPF Protector and Diesel Purge can be used in all diesel engines with or without turbochargers and won’t harm catalytic converters and DPF filters.

Hydraulic Lifter Additive
Have a case of noisy hydraulic lifters? Liqui Moly Hydraulic Lifter Additive will fix them right up. Added to your engine oil, it cleans sticky lifters to restore proper function and reduce noise. It also cleans oil passages to remove oil flow restrictions and can improve the function of timing chain tensioners to help reduce timing chain noise. Liqui Moly Hydraulic Lifter Additive is compatible with most motor oils and is safe for catalytic converters and particulate filters.
