Make More LS Power with Summit Racing™ VVT and Active Fuel Management Delete Combos
Building an all-out, race-only GM Gen IV LS engine? Many of the big-horsepower race camshafts and valve springs available for the LS engine are not compatible with the factory Variable Valve Timing (VVT) and Active Fuel Management Systems. Summit Racing offers combos that let you remove both systems’ hardware from your LS engine—and let you get on with the business of making horsepower.
Summit Racing™ VVT Delete Combos
Summit Racing VVT Delete Combos let you convert your LS engine to an ‘old school’ fixed-cam timing system that is compatible with aftermarket non-VTT race cams and springs. They include a new camshaft sprocket (available in 1- or 3-bolt design), camshaft bolts, a front timing cover, and a harmonic balancer bolt.
Summit Racing™ Active Fuel Management Delete Combo
GM’s Active Fuel Management—also known as Displacement on Demand (DOD)—is great for getting decent fuel economy on the highway. But it’s not so great for making horsepower; the factory lifters in engines with the DOD system are too weak for most performance camshafts. The Summit Racing Active Fuel Management Delete Combo lets you remove the DOD system. It includes the correct hydraulic roller lifter set, a valve lifter guide set, new head bolts, and an engine valley cover. Just add an aftermarket camshaft and gaskets and you’re ready to put that V8 power to the ground. ECU tuning is required to deactivate the system.
