Make Room for Headers and Improve Drivability with a Borgeson Performance Steering Shaft for GM Vehicles
Upgrading a car with headers is a hot rodding rite of passage. Sometimes they drop in with nary a hitch, other times installation requires colorful curse words. Case in point are 1979-93 GM vehicles including G-Bodies, F-Bodies, and S-Series trucks. They have a stock steering shaft with a large rag joint that wreaks havoc on exhaust clearance, even with stock exhaust manifolds. And if it’s bad with factory parts, imagine the difficulty you’ll have wrangling long tube headers in there.
A Borgeson Performance Steering Shaft will solve that problem. It eliminates the bulky rag joint for more header clearance and provides a zero-play connection from the steering wheel to the steering box. It also features a smooth, enclosed telescoping shaft with a vibration-reducing U-joint at the steering box connection for improved road feel and comfort.
The Borgeson Performance Steering Shaft is made in the USA and comes with a five-year warranty. It is a direct fit replacement part for the following vehicles:
• 1979-83 Chevy Malibu
• 1979-88 Chevy Monte Carlo and El Camino, GMC Caballero, Buick Regal, Oldsmobile Cutlass, and Pontiac Grand Prix
• 1982-92 Camaro/Firebird
• 1982-93 S-Series pickup and SUV
