Make Your Chevy Square Body a Handler with a Ridetech Streetgrip Suspension
Give your 1973-87 Chevy C10 square body pickup a high-performance handling overhaul with a Ridetech Streetgrip Suspension System. The kit lowers your truck’s stance for better looks and improves the ride to modern day standards with a guaranteed, perfectly matched setup.
Here’s what you get:
Front Drop Spindles
Ridetech Front Drop Spindles lower the front of the truck 2.5 inches while maintaining the factory suspension travel. Their modular design allows them to work with a variety of brake kits including standard and heavy-duty OEM discs plus aftermarket kits from Baer, Wilwood, and others.
Front Coil Springs
Ridetech Front Coil Springs are CNC-wound from high-tensile premium steel and feature a linear spring rate that remains uniform throughout compression, providing consistent performance in all road conditions.
Front Sway Bar
The stock sway bar binds terribly on lowered trucks. Ridetech’s beefy 1.5-inch diameter sway bar eliminates that bind, corrects the geometry, and significantly reduces body roll. Billet aluminum frame mounts with low-friction Delrin inserts allow the sway bar to move freely for improved ride quality and handling.
Delrin Front Control Arm Bushings
OEM rubber control arm bushings allow the control arms to move around too much for spirited driving. Ridetech Delrin Front Control Arm Bushings eliminate the unwanted deflection and stiction, leading to a huge performance improvement and years of quiet-free service. Streetgrip Systems are also available without control arm bushings for those that want to swap their OE control arms for upgraded Ridetech Strongarms Front Tubular Control Arms.
Composite Rear Leaf Springs
Ridetech’s Composite Rear Leaf Springs optimize ride quality and handling while reducing unsprung weight by 70 pounds. They also eliminate spring sag, ensuring your truck’s load-carrying capacity remains intact and preventing other problems like axle wrap and uneven tire wear. Upgraded shackles and hangers with Delrin bushings eliminate unwanted movement and binding, ensuring smooth movement and improved handling with quiet operation.
HQ/RQ-S Series Shocks
Depending on the kit, your Streetgrip Suspension System will include either Ridetech HQ or RQ-S Series Shocks. The difference between them is that HQ shocks are made from aluminum and RQ-S shocks have steel bodies. Besides that, everything else is the same.
The shocks are specifically designed to work with lowered vehicles. The monotube design with a large piston and more efficient oil flow path maintains cooler operating temperatures for more consistent performance. The heavy-duty 1/2-inch diameter shaft prevents deflection and bending. And the 24-position rebound adjustability means you can fine-tune the suspension for a plush daily-driver feel or firm it up for better cornering.
Ridetech Streetgrip Suspension Systems are available for 1973-87 Chevy C10 equipped with small and big block Chevy or GM LS engines.
