Make Your Classic Mustang More Fun and Safer to Drive with MustangSteve Components and Kits

When updating your first-gen Mustang, you can’t go wrong with parts made by a guy with Mustang in his name. MustangSteve makes parts to help you Mustang stop better, steer easier, and shift smoother. He even has his own forum with tons of information on your favorite car.

Summit Racing carries MustangSteve components and kits including these:

Clutch Cable Conversion Kits for 1964.5-68 Mustang
MustangSteve Clutch Cable Conversion Kits let you convert from the stock ‘Z-bar’ style clutch linkages to a Fox Body Mustang cable style clutch release. This provides smoother clutch pedal movement and make it a lot easier to swap in a later model T-5 or Tremec transmission.

The kits include a quadrant that must be welded to the car’s stock clutch pedal. This prevents the chance of the quadrant working itself loose. Other benefits include:
• Pulls the cable with a constant radius to prevent the cable from pulling straight out of the housing
• Transfers forces to the cable directly in line with the clutch pedal—no twisting motion to bend the pedal arm
• Virtually eliminates clutch chatter caused by loose clutch actuation linkage
• Simple cable replacement

MustangSteve Clutch Cable Conversion Kits include the weld-on quadrant, billet aluminum adjustable cable stop, clutch cable, and required brackets. Kits are also available with a new clutch pedal with the quadrant already welded on. A 10- or 10.5-inch diaphragm type clutch is required. Not recommended to use with long tube headers.

Brake Caliper Mounting Bracket Kits for 1964.5-73 Mustang
MustangSteve Caliper Mounting Bracket Kits are designed to fit readily available factory late model Mustang disc brakes on your classic pony car. The brackets maintain the car’s track width and wheel backspacing, though you will have to update to 17 inch or larger wheels to accommodate the bigger brake rotors. The front kits require the use of factory V8 drum brake or Mustang II-style spindles. Grade 8 hardware is included.

Front Brake Kits are available to adapt these OEM brakes:
• 2005-2014 Mustang, 12.5 inch rotor
• 1994-2004 Mustang Cobra, 13 inch rotor

Front Brake Kits are available to adapt these OEM brakes:
• 2015-2017 Mustang 13 inch disc brakes for Ford ‘large bearing’ 9-inch axle
• 1994-2004 Mustang Cobra 11.65 inch rear brakes for Ford 8-inch and 9-inch axles
• 2005-2014 Mustang 11.75 inch rear brakes for Ford 8-inch and ‘small bearing’ 9 inch axles

Door Hinge Repair Kits
If the doors on your classic Mustang don't stay open or seem to have a lot of freeplay, you’ve got a case of Sloppy Door Hinge Syndrome. A MustangSteve Door Hinge Repair Kit will fix things right up. It replaces the factory hinge pins with machined steel pins with zerk fittings. Just ream the pin holes in the factory hinges to 11/32-inch, install the included oil-impregnated bronze bushings, and slide in the new pins. Pump some grease through the zerks and you’ll be rewarded with smooth door operation.

MustangSteve Door Hinge Repair Kits include new detents and pins, springs, and hardware to complete the installation. You can also get the hinge pins by themselves if you just want to replace those.

Summit Racing also carries MustangSteve power brake boosters and kits, steering column support bearings, ball joint sleeves, and other components.
