Make Your Race Car a Safer Car with a Longacre Battery Disconnect Switch

With 14 types to choose from, you should have no trouble finding the right Longacre Battery Disconnect Switch for your race car. Many sanctioning bodies require an externally-mounted switch, and for good reason. By cutting off electrical power to your car, a disconnect switch will dramatically lower the risk of a fire from ignited fuel or a short circuit in the event of an accident.

Longacre rotary turn switches are rated at 175 amps continuous/1,000 amps surge with a voltage capacity of 6 to 36 volts. Some have an alternator disconnect circuit to prevent damage to the alternator diodes when the battery current is switched off suddenly. Waterproof versions are available, and you can also get a switch with an aluminum panel for a clean installation.

Summit Racing also carries a Longacre Push-Pull Disconnect Switch rated at 150 amps continuous/1,000 amps surge, and a key-style switch rated at 350 amps continuous/500 amps surge.
