Make Your S650 Mustang Sound as Good as It Performs with an AWE Tuning Exhaust System
You could make a good argument that the 2024 S650 Mustang GT—especially the 500 horsepower Dark Horse version—is one of the powerful and well-balanced Mustangs Ford has ever built. But like all cars, the S650 can be made even better. Replacing the factory exhaust system with an AWE Tuning system is a case in point. They feature a H-pipe that provides a muscular tone with minimal rasp. Aft of the H-pipe are straight-through bullet-style resonators to further reduce that raspy tone. That’s especially helpful when you add aftermarket headers.
AWE cat-back systems are hand-built in USA using American-sourced T304L stainless steel. The three-inch, 0.65-inch wall tubing is CNC-mandrel bent for maximum flow, and the systems are direct bolt-ons for easy installation. All systems are 50-state emissions legal and are backed by AWE Tuning’s limited lifetime warranty.
Summit Racing carries three types of AWE Tuning exhaust systems for the S650 Mustang:
Touring Edition Exhaust Systems are ideal for street-driven Mustangs. They have mufflers with AWE’s 180 Technology® drone-cancelling system. As exhaust gas flows into the mufflers, it passes through strategically located ports into reflection chambers. The specific timing of when the sound waves exit the chambers into the main exhaust flow creates a 180-degree out-of-phase sound wave that cancels out problematic frequencies. All you hear is a great exhaust note with no annoying drone.
AWE Touring Edition systems are 50-state emissions legal come with 4.5-inch diameter stainless steel tips in your choice of chrome or black.
The Track Edition Exhaust Systems are a considerably rowdier. They don’t have Touring Editions’ drone-cancelling mufflers so you get a no-filter performance sound at all speeds. At 39 pounds, the AWE Track Edition systems are 13 pounds lighter than the Touring Edition systems. And yes, they’re 50-state emissions legal too.
The SwitchPath Edition Exhaust Systems are made for Mustangs with the factory active exhaust system. Each of the systems’ mufflers have a OEM-quality mechanical valve system controlled by active exhaust system software. Keep the valves closed for around-town driving or highway cruising, then open it up on the backroads or at the track for a full-throated roar.
If you get a Touring or Track Edition system and decide you want to switch to the other type, that’s as easy as getting an AWE Tuning Exhaust Conversion. They replace your current system’s pipes from the resonators back, and you can swap the rear sections anytime you wish. That’s pretty cool.
