Michelin Alpin Winter Tires Now Available at Summit Racing

It happens every year. It gets cold outside, the weather turns to garbage, and the roads get wet, snow covered, or—shudder—coated in ice. And contrary to popular belief, “all-season” tires are not designed for winter conditions.

Pilot Alpin PA4 Tires
These tires are designed for ultra-high performance cars like Corvettes and Porsches. The tires feature an exclusive tread design with Stabiligrip 3-D siping that puts thousands of biting edges and circumferential grooves in contact with the road surface. In testing, Michelin says the Alpin PA4 delivers a 10% improvement in acceleration and 5% better handling on snow covered and icy roads. The full silica-based Helio™ rubber compound remains flexible in low temperatures for better winter performance and shorter stopping distances. The Pilot Alpin PA4 tires are available in a variety of 18, 19, 20, and 21 inch sizes.

Pilot Alpin PA5 Tires
Designed for premium SUVs and CUVs, the Alpin PA5 tires have a directional tread pattern with a center groove for much-improved resistance to hydroplaning. The tread compound has a functional polymer blended into the rubber that provides improved low-temperature grip in snow, wet, and dry conditions. Michelin was even thoughtful enough to give the Alpin PA5 a prominent sidewall that looks good on any SUV or crossover. Available in 18, 19, 20, and 21 inch sizes.

Latitude Alpin LA2 Tires
These tires are also designed for SUVs and crossovers. Like the Pilot Alpin PA4s, the Alpin LA2s feature Stabiligrip 3-D siping for exceptional handling, plus a full silica-based Helio™ rubber compound that remains flexible in low temperatures for better winter performance and shorter stopping distances. The tires are built with Michelin’s MaxTouch process that interlocks the siping with exceptional tread block rigidity for optimized grip and long wear life. And thanks to Michelin’s Comfort Control technology, the Alpin LA2 tires transmit greatly reduced vibration and road noise into your vehicle’s cabin, making for a comfy ride.
