New at Summit Racing: AEM Electronic CD-7 Digital Racing Dash

Data logging information is only valuable if you can see it. AEM Electronics’ CD-7 Digital Racing Dash connects to your existing data logging system and shows you what’s going on with your car. It features a seven inch, full-color digital screen that is readable in all types of light—even direct sunlight—thanks to a glare diffuser and shade hood.

The CD-7 receives data from sensor channels via CAN bus connections—two CAN bus channels are included which can receive and collect data from AEMnet-enabled devices such as the Infinity ECU, Series 2 EMS or EMS-4 engine management systems. The CD-7 can also be used with third party PDMs, CAN sensor modules, and programmable engine management systems. AEM Electronics has a list of compatible devices on its web site.

The CD-7 has seven ultra-bright LEDs on the top of the display housing are used to indicate RPM and shift light activation. You can program them to ascend in specific increments based on rpm range, and flash when it is time to shift. Large buttons on the display face allow you to eeasily change pages and reset the memory, even with driving gloves on. The button functions are also duplicated on the rear connector so you can mount remote buttons on the steering wheel. Two additional programmable LEDs are located above the toggle buttons on the sides of the housing.

Summit Racing offers the CD-7 in four versions. All versions have a water-resistant cast aluminum housing with sealed connectors and anti-vibration mounts:
•Display only
• Display with AEM’s Vehicle Dynamics Module (three-axis accelerometer, three-axis gyrometer and 5Hz GPS + GLONASS for track mapping and chassis tuning)
• Display with a built-in data logger (800 channel capability, 200 Mb of internal memory, and a 100/second maximum data sampling rate)
• Display with data logger and Vehicle Dynamics Module
