New at Summit Racing: AeroCatch Flush-Mount Hood Pin Kits
A hood pin is a hood pin—or at least it was until the savvy Brits at AeroCatch upended the apple cart with their Flush-Mount Hood Pin Kits. The design incorporates a hinged, spring-loaded stainless steel pin in a flush mount, glass-reinforced thermoplastic housing. The stainless pin engages with a height-adjustable aluminum striker pin for a secure fit. What you get is a modern, aerodynamic alternative to the traditional musclecar style hood pin. The AeroCatch hood pins are also ideal for use as door latches, trunk latches, etc.—perfect for road, rally, and off-road racing vehicles.
The AeroCatch Flush-Mount Hood Pin Kits are available in two styles. The 120 Series hood pins install from above the hood or other panel, and have exposed mounting plates; the 125 Series install from below the hood or panel with no exposed mounting plates. Both styles are available in locking or non-locking versions in black, white, or carbon fiber-look. The kits include two housings, mounting plates, striker pins, bump stops, hardware, and a cutting template.
