New at Summit Racing: Alpinestars Racing Apparel
No matter what kind of racing you’re into, you need the proper gear to protect your fragile self. Of course, you want to look good too.
Summit Racing now carries Alpinestars racing apparel. The Italian company started out making racing shoes for motocross racing back in 1963, and now makes shoes, gloves, racing suits, and fire-retardant underclothes for all types of motorsports—all with a dash of Italian style. Here is a sample of the Alpinestars gear we offer:
GP Start Boot Cut Driving Suits
Alpinestars GP Start Boot Cut Driving Suits are certified to meet SFI 3.2A Level 5 and FIA 8856-2000 standards. The suits have a two-layer design made from strong, lightweight aramid fiber cloth (think KEVLAR®) that makes them lightweight and very heat-resistant. Features include:
• Anatomical arm, leg, and torso paneling for optimum fit
• Internal flat seams reduce pressure points
• Close-fitting with adjustable collar and belted waist for precise fit
• Shoulder epaulette design for easier extraction of the driver in the event of a crash
• Ribbed, stretchable wrist and boot leg cuffs
• Thigh pockets for convenient storage
Tech 1 Racing Gloves
Tech 1 Race gloves from Alpinestars are certified to meet SFI 3.3/5 and FIA 8856-2000 standards. The gloves are made from Nomex® with a full-length, fire resistant line. Minimal seam construction with silicone palm and finger areas offers excellent grip, and a pre-curved finger structure helps to reduce hand fatigue while driving. Other features include:
• Full gauntlet, single-panel top construction
• Advanced poly-foam padding on knuckle and wrist for added comfort
• Elasticized wrist band closure ensures a secure fit

SP Racing Shoes
SP Racing Shoes have an F1-style sole with Alpinestars’ exclusive rubber compound for improved pedal feel and grip in race conditions. Features include:
• Meet SFI 3.3/5 and FIA 8856-2000 standards
• Nomex lining for excellent heat-resistance, weight-saving and reduced seams
• Quality suede leather uppers
• Ultra-lightweight, soft-feel design with perforated tongue and lateral panels to maximize breathability
• Lightweight micro-porous padding around the heel and insole enhances comfort
• Soft, thin liner on the tongue and lateral panels offer improved comfort
KX Base Layer Long Sleeve Tops
This top is ideal for motocross and kart racers, cyclists, or any racer that needs a comfortable shirt to wear under their race suits. KX Long Sleeve Tops offer excellent breathability and moisture-wicking properties. They are made from hypoallergenic, anti-static, and heat-resistant fibers to help better regulate body temperature to keep you cool and dry. The tops have a fitted design to help reduce upper torso and arm muscle fatigue. Summit Racing also carries matching KX Base Layer bottoms.
