New at Summit Racing: Auto Meter Diesel Tach Adapter and 6K Tachometers

Auto Meter’s Diesel Tach Adapter takes the pain out of installing an aftermarket tachometer in a diesel. The adapter uses a small pickup probe that is strapped to the outside of the vehicle’s alternator and inductively reads its rotation. The adapter’s module then converts that inductive signal to a 12 volt square wave signal that any Auto Meter tachometer can use to count revs. Pretty ingenious.

The Diesel Tach Adapter isn’t worth much without a tach to go with it. Summit Racing carries Auto Meter’s 6K Tachometers that are perfect for the low-rpm limits of a diesel engine. The in-dash tachs are available in Ultra-Lite, Sport-Comp, Phantom Series, and Z-Series versions to match your other Auto Meter gauges. You even get a choice of 3 3/8 or 5 inch diameter faces.
