New at Summit Racing: Chevrolet Performance Brake Kits for Camaro and Corvette
Late model Camaros and Corvettes come from the factory with very good brakes. But if you track your car or have turned up the wick horsepower-wise, you’ll need brakes that won’t melt down due to the extra heat generated during spirited driving.
Grab a Chevrolet Performance Brake Kit and you’ll get high performance brakes factory-engineered to OEM fit and finish specifications, and won’t void the factory warranty. That’s a combination that’s tough to beat. All kits include powdercoated Brembo aluminum calipers.
Kits for Camaro
The ZL1 Brembo Kit is a great way to upgrade an SS to the factory brakes used on the supercharged ZL1. The kit features six-piston front calipers and 14.60 inch solid rotors, four-piston rear calipers and 14.40 inch solid rotors, and pads. The rotors feature cast iron brake ring and an aluminum hat. This lightweight design provides greater resistance to warping and potentially longer rotor life. The ZL1 brakes are also available in kits for front and rear.
The V6 Brembo Kit lets you upgrade a V6 car to factory-spec SS brakes. The kit includes front and rear calipers, 14 inch front and 14.4 inch rear solid rotors, pads, and a master cylinder. Requires 20 inch wheels for clearance.
The Brake Upgrade Kits for 2016-17 models feature vented and slotted Duralife rotors with a hardened surface to reduce corrosion and provide quieter braking with less vibration. The kit for 2.0L four cylinder and 3.6L V6 cars comes with four-piston aluminum calipers and 13.60 inch rotors. The kit for V6 and SS models has six-piston calipers and the large 14.60 inch rotors found on the 1LE and ZL1 cars. Both kits come with pads.
Kits for 2015-17 Corvette
Take your choice of two kits for your Vette:
The Stingray Z51 Kit will upgrade your base model Corvette to the brakes used in the Z51 package. It includes six piston Brembo calipers, 13.58 inch front rotors, and 13.31 inch rear slotted rotors. The larger rotors increase braking torque up to 57 percent on average. This kit also features high performance pads with greater resistance to brake fade when rotor temperatures over 500 degrees Celsius.
The Brake Upgrade Kit is for Z51 owners that want to step up to the front brakes found on the Z06 Corvette. You get six piston calipers with vented pistons to improve pad and fluid cooling, 14.57 inch two-piece iron slotted rotors, and pads that offer 39% more surface area than the Z51 pads. These brakes will not fit under stock base or Z51 wheels, and require a minimum of 4mm clearance between the outboard face of the caliper and the inner wheel spoke.
