New at Summit Racing: Cometic MLX Head Gaskets
Cometic MLS (multi-layer steel) head gaskets are pretty much the standard in sealing technology. Ideal for mating aluminum heads to aluminum blocks and aluminum heads to cast iron blocks, MLS gaskets are comprised of multiple layers of stainless steel that can withstand shearing forces between head and block, can ‘rebound’ back into shape, and resist corrosion.
But that wasn’t enough for Cometic. They created the MLX (Multi-Layer Stopper) Head Gaskets. Then MLS style gaskets have an integrated "stopper" layer for optimum combustion chamber sealing and improved clamp load around the cylinder without increasing bore distortion. That minimizes chances of a gasket blowout to much lower levels—a big plus with high compression, boosted, or nitrous engines that generate large amounts of cylinder pressure. The gaskets require no sealant or retorquing.
Cometic MLX Head Gaskets are available for small block Chevy, GM LS series engines, and small block Ford in multiple bore sizes and thicknesses.
