Heavy duty trucks can now be optioned with special reinforcements underneath the bed to accommodate a fifth wheel trailer hitch. Curt’s OEM Compatible Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch Kits are designed precisely to take advantage of those reinforcements. They use factory-style hitch legs to ensure a rock-solid mount.

Curt Fifth Wheel hitches use a unique hitching mechanism for added trailer security. The hitch design is actually based on the same system used by 18-wheelers. The coupler is on the vehicle side and accepts the trailer’s kingpin instead of a more traditional ball-mount shank.

A quarter-turn anchoring system makes it easy to hitch and remove the trailer. Every hitch receives an extra durable carbide powdercoat finish to fight rust and corrosion.

Curt’s OEM Compatible Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch Kits fall into three categories:

The 24K Series is the toughest hitch in the lineup, boasting a 24,000 pound maximum gross trailer weight rating. These hitches also feature a spherical axle bearing, which allows the hitch head to move in virtually any direction. That improves articulation and trailer movement, while promoting smoother, quieter operation.

Curt’s 20K Series carries a 20,000 pound maximum gross trailer weight rating and uses the same innovative spherical axle bearing design of the 24K series.

The 16K Series hitches are available either with the spherical axle bearing for quiet operation, or with a budget-friendly conventional design. They’re have a 16,000 pound maximum gross trailer weight rating.

All three options require the truck to be equipped with the applicable factory fifth wheel hitch prep package.
