New at Summit Racing: Dedenbear STSK Stepper Throttle Stop System

Listen up, Super class racers—Dedenbear’s STSK Stepper Throttle Stop System will give you the consistency of an electric stop with the adjustability of an air stop.

Yes, that’s a big deal. Electric throttle stops are good because they are very consistent. However, you only get one blade position and one opening rate, which can increase the risk of spinning the tires when the stop reopens to wide open throttle. Air (C02) controlled throttle stops let you control the blade opening rate by allowing you to slow the air bleed rate through a needle valve. That smoothes the transition back to wide open throttle. However, CO2 is affected by temperature, pressure, bottle volume, and a host of other issues that can mess with the throttle stop’s consistency.

Dedenbear’s STSK system solves these problems. It is digitally controlled so it is very consistent and not affected by battery voltage, temperature, pressure, and other factors. It can open and close the throttle blades eight separate times during a run at any of nine different rates from 40 to 1,100 degrees per second. That equates to full travel from .08 to two seconds. This allows you to select how fast the throttle stop opens or closes to optimize how fast your engine transitions from low to high power and back to low power.

The STSK also gives you the ability to adjust the stop to any of 90 different positions from full open to full closed–and vary those positions anytime during a run. This allows you to tune your car to launch at a desired RPM, close the throttle stop to limit your ET, then reopen to a nearly full open position to regain full power to run down your opponent.

The Dedenbear STSK Stepper Throttle System is Repeatable to within 1/20th of a degree and one one-thousandth of a second. It also has a starting line launch control for the ultimate in launch consistency, and every adjustment can be easily made right from the driver seat using the simple button controls.
