New at Summit Racing: E-Stopp Electric Emergency Brakes

Why mess with a fussy mechanical emergency brake on your street rod, classic truck, or Pro Touring project when an E-Stopp Electric Emergency Brake Kit is so much easier to install and live with? The E-Stopp kit works with any kind of braking system that can accept an emergency brake cable. The weatherproof actuator can be mounted most anywhere on the chassis; the brake is operated electronically by a pushbutton inside the car. That eliminates the handle or foot brake mechanism—and the need to adjust them.

The E-Stopp emergency brake is controlled by a microcomputer that regulates the amount of pull—the actuator pulls until it detects approximately 600 pounds of resistance (about two inches of travel), then locks in place. The button has a detachable head so you can put it where you want it. Hide the button and you can use the E-Stopp as an anti-theft device. The brake also has a patented safety feature that renders it inoperable while the ignition is on. E-Stopp even includes a ground sync wire that can be hooked up to the parking brake symbol light on your dashboard.

The E-Stopp Electric Emergency Brake Kit includes the actuator, control box with lighted pushbutton switch, a 21 inch brake cable, and connectors. You can also get a kit with a remote transmitter for activating the system.
