Why They’re Cool: Banks Ram-Air Systems flow up to 64 percent better than the stock intake setup, yet can still withstand the rigors of the workday. They use a giant outlet, massive filter, and bigger inlets to pull in greater amounts of cool air. This helps the engine produce more power and increase fuel economy, while simultaneously decreasing EGTs and smoke.
Banks Ram-Air Systems also incorporate 4.5 inch bellows to accommodate for engine movement. These larger bellows mean the components are better insulated from vibration, greatly increasing their service life. The lifetime cotton gauze filters work like factory to trap dirt and debris.
Other Stuff Worth Knowing: The Gale Banks Engineering Super-Scoop attaches to the Ram-Air Intake System to squeeze even more performance from your diesel. It feeds the filter housing with a charge of pressurized air. The colder, denser air helps improve combustion, resulting in better performance and fuel economy.
