New at Summit Racing: Hinson Motorsports Components for Late Model Corvette

Hinson Motorsports earned its rep building hot Mazda RX7s and LS-powered race cars. The team learned a thing or two about what works and what doesn’t as they built engines and fabricated chassis, and put that knowledge to work making better parts for cars like the Corvette.

Summit Racing carries Hinson Motorsports components for C5, C6, and C7 Corvettes that make already good cars into really, really good cars. Some examples:

Short Throw Shifters
Even the Corvette got saddled with a sub-optimal factory shifter. Hinson Motorsports short throw shifters have an advanced handle centering mechanism that eliminates centering springs. That means you’ll never miss a gear due to shifter wear. The shifter handle is made from hardened steel for additional strength and weight. The added weight helps you smoothly row through the gears without the annoying rattling of cheaper aluminum handles.  

Hinson Motorsports shifters have a CNC-machined aluminum base with internal seals to keep the elements out of your shift box and torque tube. Hardened 7/16 inch stubs are strong enough to handle gear banging without breakage. The shifters are available for 1997-2017 Corvette with manual transmissions. Most come with a ball-style shift knob, but are also available for use with the factory knob.

Full Length Headers for C5 and C6 Corvette
Full length headers are the bomb for extracting top-end horsepower out of an engine. Hinson Motorsports long tube headers are made from stainless steel and have 1 7/8 inch diameter, mandrel-bent primary tubes for peak exhaust flow. Most come with a three inch diameter aluminized steel X-pipe for balanced exhaust flow, and everything is ceramic coated to reduce underhood and under-car heat. The headers are a direct-fit with no fabrication required, but do eliminate the factory catalytic converters so they are for racing use only.

Engine and Transmission Mounts
These urethane mounts provide the ideal balance between engine control and vibration dampening. The mounts feature an interlocking stainless steel design that allows the engine or transmission to "float" on the urethane. That provides excellent movement control without high NVH levels, improves throttle response, and helps smooth out gear changes.

The Hinson Motorsports mounts are direct replacements for stock rubber mounts and use the factory hardware (not included). The engine mounts are available in a shorty style that is 3/8 inch shorter than stock to provide added cowl clearance for taller aftermarket intake manifolds like the ones from FAST.
