New at Summit Racing: Hurst Dazzler Wheels

Back in the day, George Hurst introduced a new wheel design used on a 1965 Pontiac GTO that paced the NASCAR Riverside 500 race. Called the Dazzler, the five-spoke wheel was the first to use a forged aluminum center and a steel rim. Good looking and plenty strong, the wheel was heavy and pricy by 1965 standards so it never attained the popularity other aftermarket wheels enjoyed.

Today, the original Hurst Dazzlers are prized collectibles among musclecar enthusiasts, with a set of restored wheels worth upwards of $6,000. But you can get the look and strength of the Dazzler for a lot less. The new Hurst wheels pay homage to the original design, but have a machined-in beauty ring instead of the original’s separate ring. The one-piece aluminum wheels have machined edges on the spokes and are SAE- and DOT-approved. Snap-in center caps are included.

You get also a choice of gloss black or gold anodized finishes. The gold wheels are dead ringers for the Dazzler wheels on the 1965 GeeTO Tiger giveaway GTO built by Hurst and Pontiac.
