New at Summit Racing: Pyrotect Safety Gear

You can’t win races when you’re in the hospital. That’s why you can’t skimp on safety equipment. Summit Racing now offers safety gear from Pyrotect. The helmets, driver suits, fuel cells, and other equipment will help protect you when on-track mayhem occurs. And since Pyrotect has been around since 1972, the company has a good handle on what works. Here are a few of the Pyrotect safety products available at Summit Racing:

Pro Airflow Helmets
Summit Racing carries 11 different styles of Pro Airflow helmets for drag racing, circle track, and road racing. The helmets feature a unique six pad Nomex headliner and cheek pad system, that can be adjusted for a perfect fit. Corrugated ridges provide better heat transfer to keep you cooler and reduce fogging. Other features include:
• Hand-laminated Tri Weave carbon/Kevlar®/glass hybrid composite or full carbon fiber lightweight shell, vacuum bagged and autoclave cured maximum durability
• Headliner air channel design for better adjustability, added comfort, and improved air flow
• M6 insert for head neck restraint devices
• Stainless steel hardware and Kevlar chinstrap
• Snell SA 2015 rated

Take your choice of open face and several full face designs. Some full face helmets are available with top forced air (air flows from the top of the helmet through front and side vents) or side forced air venting systems.

Ultra-1 Driving Suits
The Ultra-1 is Pyrotect’s top of the line driving suit. Made with Proban fire retardant material, the one-piece suits feature 360° arm gusseting, a flexible back panel for comfort, boot cut legs, and contrasting box quilt stitching that improves durability and adds a splash of style, Take your choice of single layer SFI-1 or dual layer SFI-5-approved suits in all black, black/white, blue/white, and red/white. Sizes: small through 4XL.

PyroCell Elite Fuel Cells
PyroCell fuel cells are FIA/FT3 approved for use by all major racing sanctioning bodies. The cells are compatible with pump and race gasoline, AVGAS, and gasoline/ethanol fuel blends. Features include:
• Double coated urethane fabric bladder
• Full foam baffling to prevent fuel slosh and pump starvation
• Internal fuel strainers
• Vent check valve
• 3.5 inch threaded fill cap and fill plate with billet rollover valve
• -6 AN fuel pump pickup assembly
• Five year bladder warranty

The PyroCell Elite fuel cells are available with a steel or aluminum container shell in several capacities from 8 to 60 gallons. Most include a fuel sending unit.
