New at Summit Racing: QA1 REV Series Carbon Fiber Driveshafts for 1979-2004 Mustang
Nobody thinks much about driveshafts, but Mustang racers definitely should. We’ve all heard the stories about the damage that a steel or aluminum driveshaft can do when it lets go.
That is not an issue with QA1’s REV Series Carbon Fiber Driveshafts. Formed to spec just for Mustangs, the driveshafts are designed to handle up to 1,500 horsepower and 1,000 lbs.-ft. of torque. They’re stronger than steel, aluminum, and other carbon fiber driveshafts, and weigh under 20 pounds. That translates into quicker acceleration plus extended transmission and differential life.
REV Series driveshafts are made with 3M™ Matrix resin for extreme torque capacity under racing conditions. A high-strength structural adhesive is used to bond the carbon fiber tube to the CNC-machined forged tube yokes using a proprietary 11-step bonding procedure. That ensures better driveshaft balance and increased strength. QA1 also uses Spicer 1350 U-Joints sealed for maximum strength.
In the unlikely event of a failure, a QA1 carbon fiber driveshaft splinters instead of acting as a missile—you don’t have to worry about it coming up through the floor pan and seriously hurting you or your Mustang.
Summit Racing offers bolt-on REV Series Carbon Fiber Driveshafts for 1979-1995 Mustangs with manual or automatic transmissions, or 1996-2004 Mustangs with manual only. You can also custom-order a REV Series driveshaft in lengths up to 65 inches.
