New at Summit Racing: RetroSound Radios and Accessories
Remember Town and Country radios? Reverb? Under-dash tape decks? Those were on the cutting edge of sound systems when our favorite 1960s musclecar rides were new, but went the way of the dodo bird and leaded gas. Today’s sound systems have cool stuff like iPod and Bluetooth connections, satellite radio compatibility, and built-in amplifiers. And thanks to RetroSound, you can fit that modern tune-ology in your classic ride or musclecar.
RetroSound head units have that classic pushbutton radio styling to fit in with your car’s interior—some are available with a choice of bezel and button styles. RetroSound’s patented InfiniMount adjustable shaft system makes installation easy. The radio face is removable, allowing you to remote-mount the head unit and put the display wherever you want when you use the optional extension cable.
Summit Racing offers three types of RetroSound head units:
Classic Radio
The Classic features a digital AM/FM tuner with 30 presets, a built-in 18 watt x four-channel RMS amplifier, an auxiliary input for devices like an iPod or portable satellite radio, and a white display on a black face. Your also get RCA preouts for an external amplifier if you really want to kick out the jams.
Zuma Radio
The Zuma offers the same AM/FM digital tuner as the Classic, an extra auxiliary input, plus a USB port for listening to MP3/WMA music files via a flash drive. The built-in amplifier is bumped to 25 watts, and the digital display shows song artist and title information in your choice of white or green. You even get a power antenna lead and a turn-on lead for an external amplifier.
Model Two Radio
The Model Two has the same features as the Zuma and adds Bluetooth connectivity plus a 32,000 color display you can adjust to suit your mood.
Summit Racing also carries RetroSound custom- and universal-fit speakers, vintage-style telescoping car radio antennas, subwoofers, and amplifiers.
