New at Summit Racing: Rick's Hot Rod Shop Sump-Style Fuel Tanks for Camaro and Chevelle
Like to do a little racing or hard driving on a two-lane twisty? You’re gonna need a way to keep gasoline at the fuel tank pickup when you go full-lock on the steering wheel. Rick’s Hot Rod Shop Sump-Style Fuel Tanks have a welded-on sump that provides a low point for fuel to flow from, ensuring maximum pressure through your fuel line. The tanks also have an internal baffle system to control fuel slosh. The baffles run front to rear and side to side, surrounding the fuel pickup to eliminate fuel starvation during acceleration and hard braking.
Rick’s Hot Rod Shop hand-forms its tanks from 304 grade stainless steel and fully TIG-welds them for strength. The tanks have 3/8 inch thick, CNC-machined stainless steel mounting flanges and come with stainless steel mounting straps and hardware. The tanks accept any aftermarket sending unit, and Rick’s recommends using a pusher style aftermarket electric fuel pump. The tanks are direct replacements for the OEM units and are designed for use with carbureted fuel systems.
Applications
• 1965-72 Chevelle, 19.5 and 20 gallon capacities
• 1967-73 Camaro/Firebird, 14, 15, and 18 gallon capacities
