New at Summit Racing: UMI Performance Front Subframe Repair Kit for 1970-81 Camaro/Firebird

Second generation Camaros and Firebirds feature a front subframe that supports the engine and suspension and attaches to the body with six bolts. While the design is sturdy, time and several generations of heavy right feet will eventually deform the subframe at the most vulnerable points—the body mount holes. When those holes start to distort or rust away, the subframe can flex to the point where the car is unsafe to drive.

UMI Performance discovered that very problem with its 1971 Camaro Z28 project, and created this Subframe Repair Kit to fix it. The kit features 1/8 inch thick, laser-cut steel pieces to rebuild the body mount areas and properly resize the holes. Cutting and welding is required, but well worth the effort.
