New at Summit Racing: UMI Performance Rear Coil-Over Kits for GM A-Body

GM’s 1964-72 A-body cars like the Chevelle, Lemans/GTO, Cutlass, and Skylark came from the factory with a four-link coil-spring suspension. The concept was sound, but the factory opted to emphasize ride comfort over handling by using rubber bushings and flimsy control arms that deflected at the first sign of a curve or a hard stoplight launch.

UMI Performance came up with a better idea with its Rear Coil-Over Conversion Kits. The 100% bolt-in kits use JIG-assembled and MIG-welded brackets to attach the coil-over assemblies to the car and to relocate the lower control arms. The lower bracket features a double shear mount for reliability while the upper bracket reinforces the shock mount area.

Other features include:
• Viking double adjustable coil-over shocks
• Two-hole trailing arm adjustment to fine-tune instant center location
• Lowers the car 1 to 3 inches
• Does not make permanent changes to chassis or axle housing
• Installation hardware included

The UMI Rear Coil-Over Conversion Kits are available with three spring choices:
• 150 lb./in. for road racing and autocrossing
• 125 lb./in. for street performance
• 110 lb./in. for drag racing
