NGK High Ignitability Spark Plugs are Made for Hot-Running Modern Engines

Modern engines are very good at making power with lean air/fuel ratios. They also run very hot, which shortens the life expectancy of conventional spark plugs. NGK High Ignitability (HI) Spark Plugs produce a wider flame kernel to burn fuel more efficiently. That helps improve throttle response, smooth out engine idle, and make cold starts easier.

Laser Iridium High Ignitability Spark Plugs feature an Iridium-tipped center electrode that ensure a consistently stable spark. Iridium is also six times harder than platinum for exceptional durability.

Ruthenium HX Spark Plugs have a Ruthenium alloy center electrode and a platinum ground electrode. The design concentrates spark energy for a more complete fuel burn than other precious metal spark plugs.

Plugs for non-turbo engines have a DFE (Double Fine Electrode) design. Plugs for turbo and supercharged engines have a PSPE (Projected Square Platinum Electrode) with a ground electrode that projects to the side for better heat resistance.
