Powertrax Grip Lok Locking Differentials Now Available at Summit Racing

It’s tough to beat a locking differential when it comes to full, I need-it-now traction. A locker effectively ties the two driven wheels together so both get equal amounts of engine torque. Unlike a spool, a locker is streetable—it disengages when you make a turn. And when one wheel loses traction, a locking differential delivers power to the wheel with the highest amount of traction. That’s important when you’re tackling a difficult trail or climbing rocks.

Powertrax Grip Lok differentials combine the action of a traditional locker with a fully machined forged steel case, making it one of the strongest differentials you can buy. The Grip Lok is all mechanical and works automatically—no clutches to wear out, no switches to activate, and no wheel slippage.

Powertrax is so confident the Grip Lok can take whatever you can throw at it, they back it with a one year, 100,000 mile limited warranty. Powertrax says you must use an 80W-90 weight, petroleum-based gear oil with a GL-5 (or higher) rating, and that friction additives/modifiers should not be used.
