Protect Your Race Car’s Drivetrain with JR1 Racing Oils and Fluids
Necessity is the mother of invention, so they say. JR1 Racing Oil was created by two NHRA Super Stock racers—one of whom was in the oil business—because they didn’t like the motor oil they were using. They developed a line of full- and semi-synthetic motor oil, automatic transmission fluid, and gear oil that can handle the high temperatures and extreme loads generated by racing.
Full Synthetic Race Oil
JR1 Full Synthetic Race Oil can handle very high temperatures without breaking down. It forms a stronger film layer on parts that lasts longer than mineral-based oil, and is heavily fortified with zinc (ZDDP) and other anti-wear additives to reduce scuffing and wear.
JR 4.0 (5W20) and JR 5.0 (5W30) provide consistent wear protection and performance in drag racing and oval track racing. JR 4.0 can handle alcohol, methanol, and nitrous oxide. JR 5.0 is ideal for bracket racers and oval track classes like Late Models.
JR 1.0 (0W2.5) and JR 2.0 (0W5) are ultra-low viscosity oils that free up horsepower by keeping friction and parasitic losses to an absolute minimum. They’re designed for high RPM engines built with very tight tolerances—think Pro Stock, Comp Eliminator, and class racing like Super Stock. Oval track racers use the oil to get every last bit of power during qualifying before switching over to a heavier oil for the main.
Synthetic Blend Race Oil
JR1 Racing Synthetic Blend Race Oil provides much of the protection, thermal stability, and friction-reduction properties of full-synthetic oil, but costs less and is available in heavier weights for oval track racing, endurance racing, and other race classes that see high temperatures over longer periods of time. They’re also good for engines that have looser bearing clearances. The 50 and 60 Plus straight weights are recommended for alcohol- and nitro-fuel engines in drag racing and tractor pulling.
Full Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid
Performance automatics with high-stall converters generate a lot of heat, which breaks down a transmission fluid’s thermal stability and additive package. The result is accelerated wear and inconsistent performance. JR1 Racing Full Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid resists extreme heat to reduce slippage and provide smoother shifts.
The 10W fluid is the lightest JR1 makes. It’s ideal for transmissions with very high-stall torque converters. Use the 30W in heavier cars with more torque, while the 20W can be used to help adjust stall speed a little higher.
Full Synthetic Gear Oil
JR1 Racing Full Synthetic Gear Oil delivers maximum performance, superior protection, and extreme durability. Choose from 75W90 or 0W20 “Skinny” viscosities. The 0W20 is the lightest JR1 offers, and is ideal for NHRA class racing and heads-up drag race classes.
Mineral Break-In Oil
JR1 Racing Mineral Break-In Oil is a 30-weight oil with lots of ZDDP and other additives to ensure good ring seal and crankshaft break-in.
Full Synthetic Extreme Diesel/Fleet Oil
JR1 Racing Extreme Diesel/Fleet Oil has an advanced additive package to deliver premium engine protection against contaminants such as rust, wear, deposits, soot, corrosion, varnish, and more. It’s available in 5W20, 5W40, and 15W40 formulations.
