Engine Mounts
An engine mount has three jobs to do—attach the engine to the chassis, reduce noise and vibration, and keep the engine in proper alignment with the rest of the drivetrain. When engine mounts wear out, the engine can lift or shift around as the vehicle accelerates. The vibrations, buzzes, and clunking during gear changes will let you know when a mount needs replacing.

Transmission Mounts
When a transmission mount goes wrong, it cannot control vibration. That vibration produces misalignment that can mess up clutch engagement and gear shifting as well as driveline noise from a dead stop or when accelerating. A new DEA transmission mount will fix those problems and won’t break the bank, either. Summit Racing has them for many domestic and import vehicles from 1946 through 2019.

Torque Strut Mounts
Also known as torque limiters, torque strut mounts are used in front wheel-drive cars with transverse-mounted engines to prevent the engine from rocking under acceleration or when braking. The symptoms of a bad strut mount are much the same as a bad engine mount—excessive vibration and clunking, especially when changing gears or going from park into drive or reverse. A new DEA torque strut mount will fix things right up. We have them for many popular domestic and import front wheel-drive cars including first-generation Honda Civics.
