Replace Your Worn-Out Converter with an All-New LuK TorCon Torque Converter
Why worry about how good a rebuilt torque converter is when you can have a one that’s built with all-new parts by a reputable OEM supplier that’s built millions of ‘em? LuK TorCon Torque Converters have top-quality friction material for improved holding power; all-metal INA premium thrust bearings that are more durable than OEM-spec bearings; and fully furnace-brazed fins for improved heat dissipation and longer converter life.
LuK TorCon Torque Converters are precision balanced and completely pressure- and lockup-tested—something not all converter rebuilders can do. There’s no core charge either, sparing you the hassle of sending in your old converter
GM 6L80
The LuK TorCon Torque Converters for the 6L80 transmission have a dual plate captive clutch that can handle up to 735 lbs.-ft. of torque—far more than the single-plate clutch in the OEM converter can. The TorCon converters have a mounting plate design that distributes engine torque across 12 contact points to eliminate cover warping and flexing. LuK says it’s a better solution than the billet cover and piston often used for rebuilt converters.
TorCon Torque Converters are available for 1999-2022 Chevy/GMC 1500 pickups, Suburban, Tahoe/Yukon, and Cadillac Escalade with a Gen III/IV or Gen V LS V8.
Dodge 47RE, 48RE, and 68RFE
Designed for Dodge and RAM 2500 and 3500 trucks with the Cummins turbodiesel, the TorCon converters for the 47RE, 48RE, and 68RFE transmissions have a quad-plate clutch system that can handle way more torque than the single- or dual-plate OEM converters and even some rebuilt converters with triple-plate billet conversions. LuK says the quad-plate design is proven to outlast triple plate billet converters as well.
Ford 5R110W
These TorCon converters are designed for 2003-10-Ford F-250/350 Super Duty trucks and 2004-10 E-350 vans with the Power Stroke diesel and 5R110W transmission. They also have a quad-plate clutch system that can handle way more torque than the stock single-plate converters and rebuilt converters with triple-plate billet conversions.
Ford 6R80 and 6R35
LuK’s TorCon converters for the Ford 6R80 and 6R35 transmissions uses a similar captive clutch design as the stock converters but have much better friction material for improved torque capacity. The TorCon converters are compatible with the continuous slip apply strategy Ford uses for these transmissions.
