Reviva Diesel Crate Engines Now Available at Summit Racing

Diesel engines can live a long time with proper maintenance. But like all things mechanical, a diesel does eventually need rebuilding or replacement. If rebuilding a heavy diesel engine is not your cup of tea, Summit Racing now offers Reviva diesel crate engines. The company’s bread and butter is remanufacturing diesel engines for the medium-duty fleet market. For these folks, a disabled truck means lost income, so Reviva came up with drop-in long blocks and complete engines that can be installed in eight hours or less by a good shop. That means easier installation and less downtime for you.

Every Reviva engine is rebuilt according to the original manufacturer’s published standards:
• Blocks are Magnafluxed, resurfaced, align-bored, and have the cylinders bored and honed using torque plates
• Crankshafts are Magnafluxed and micropolished to OEM specifications, and reground if necessary
• Connecting rods are demagnetized, remachined to OEM specifications, and have new bushings installed
• Reciprocating assembly is balanced
• Cylinder heads are resurfaced, get new valves, and are pressure-tested before installation
• Stainless steel core plugs are installed to avoid corrosion issues
• And all wear parts like pistons and rings, bearings, valves, and gaskets are replaced with brand new components

Reviva makes returning a core hassle-free too. Just put your old engine in the shipping container your new engine came in. Reviva will send someone to pick it up at your home or shop—it even covers the shipping costs. You’ll get your core charge back quickly, and you won’t have to lug a heavy diesel block across town.

Reviva diesel crate engines are available in three versions:
• Long Block Engines are complete with cylinder head(s) but don’t have most external components. Some do come with valve cover(s) and front cover
• Long Block Supreme Engines include components like an oil pan, oil cooler, water pump, and glow plugs depending on application
• Complete Drop-In Engines have things like fuel injectors, intake/exhaust manifold, turbocharger, lift pump, high- and low-pressure fuel lines, and sensors depending on application

All of Reviva’s Complete Drop-In Engines are dyno tested prior to shipment. Every engine is run through a warmup cycle; three separate cruise segments simulating light, medium and heavy throttle conditions; maximum torque and horsepower tests; high and low idle tests; and a black light leak detection test with dyed oil, coolant and fuel.
