Say Goodbye to Your Parking Brake Cable with a Wilwood Electronic Parking Brake Kit

Modern technology has made the mechanical parking brake cable obsolete—many new vehicles now have electronic parking brakes activated by a switch.

Wilwood thought that was a great idea and created its own Electronic Parking Brake Caliper Kits that can be retrofitted to vehicles with mechanical parking brakes. Now you can say adios to snapped, stretched, and rusted-in-place cables.

Designed for use with rear disc brakes, the Wilwood kits feature parking brake calipers with integral electric motors that can be positioned anywhere on the brake rotors. The calipers plug into a control unit and are activated with a dash-mounted switch—turn the switch clockwise to engage the parking brakes and counter-clockwise to release.

Wilwood Electronic Parking Brake Kits are available in universal-fit versions for disc brakes with 0.81 or 1.10 inch thick rotors. Since they’re universal, you’ll have to fabricate mounting brackets for the parking brake calipers. The kits come with two calipers, controller, switch, and wiring harness.
