Solve Your Bronco’s Starting and Charging Issues with Powermaster Starters and Alternators

Is your 1965-96 Bronco getting harder to start or having trouble keeping the battery charged? A new Powermaster starter or alternator will fix those issues right up. Whether you have a stock full size Bronco or a first-gen bristling with lights and off-road gear, Powermaster has alternators making up to 200 amps and starters that can crank over engines with up to 18:1 compression.

Starters
Summit Racing offers four types of Powermaster starters for your Bronco. They have an adjustable mounting block that allows 360-degree rotation so you can clock yours to clear aftermarket oil pans and headers. The starters fit 289-302-351W engines.

PowerMax and PowerMax Plus Starters are rated at 160 lb.-ft. of torque and designed for engines with compression ratios up to 11.0:1.

Mastertorque Starters have a stout 3.25:1 gear-reduction drive and crank out as much a 180 lb.-ft. of torque. That’s enough to turn over engines with compression ratios as high as 14.0:1.

XS Torque Starters are Powermaster's most powerful. They’re rated at 200 lb.-ft. of torque and have a 4.40:1 gear reduction drive to handle engines with compression ratios up to 18:1.

Alternators
Summit Racing offers three types of Powermaster alternators for Broncos with 289-302-351W V8s. Most are available with a natural finish or a heat dispersing black powdercoat finish.

Street Alternators are available in two case styles. Alternators with Ford 3G-style cases are available for V-belt and serpentine drives in 140- and 200-amp versions. Alternators with a smoothed Powermaster case are available in 100- and 150-amp versions. They can be set up for one-wire operation and fit V-belt drives.

Available in 100- and 150-amp models, Race Alternators are set up for one-wire operation and feature Powermaster’s custom smooth case, an adjustable ear bolt, and a six-rib pulley for a serpentine belt drive.

The Truck Alternator is a stock replacement for 1993-96 Broncos. It is rated at 140 amps and has a Ford 3G case with the heat-dispersing black powdercoat finish.
