SSBC-USA Performance Brake Kits: American-Made Stopping Power for Your Vehicle

The original Stainless Steel Brake Corporation pioneered stainless steel-sleeved calipers for cars like Corvettes and Mustangs. Most aftermarket brake manufacturers eventually jumped on the bandwagon.

When the company was acquired by new owners in 2019, they changed the name to SSBC-USA. What didn’t change was the commitment to building the best performance brakes with American-made quality and engineering. Summit Racing carries SSBC-USA disc brake conversion kits and performance brake upgrades for classic muscle cars, street rods, trucks and SUVs, sport compacts, and late model performance cars. Here is a sample of what’s available:

Sport R1 Rear Disc Brake Conversion Kits
If two-wheel disc brakes are good, four-wheel discs are more good. These SSBC-USA Sport R1 Conversion Kits convert your vehicle’s rear drum brakes to the stopping power of discs. They feature Sport R1 single-piston aluminum calipers with an integral parking brake. You also get slotted, slotted and crossdrilled, or solid rotors depending on the application; brake pads; braided stainless steel flex lines; mounting brackets; and hardware. The calipers are available with a clear anodized finish or your choice of red or black powdercoat.

Available Applications by Axle Type
• GM 8.2-, 8.5-, and 8.75-inch 10-bolt
• GM 8.875-inch 12-bolt
• Ford 8- and 9-inch
• Mopar 8.75- and 9.75-inch

Competition Series Front Disc Brake Kits
SSBC-USA Competition Series brake kits will haul your car down from speed in short order. They feature Big Bite cross-drilled and slotted rotors that dissipate heat and gasses more efficiently, plus D243-style performance brake pads. The calipers are available with your choice of clear anodized, red powdercoat, and black powdercoat finishes.

Choose from two versions:

Street Kits with Comp S four-piston billet aluminum calipers with stainless steel pistons, full size bleeders for easier brake bleeding, and twin pad retainers with O-rings to eliminate pad chatter.

Race Kits have Comp S four-piston billet aluminum calipers with 25% more pad contact area and 20% thicker pads than similar calipers. They also have stainless steel pistons, full size bleeders, and twin pad retainers with O-rings to eliminate pad chatter.
