Stop the Wallowing and Improve Handling with Hellwig Anti-Sway Bars

Anti-sway bars are among the most cost effective and dramatic improvements that you can make to your vehicle regardless of whether it’s a truck, muscle car, tow rig, or RV. But what the heck do anti-sway bars do, exactly?

The short answer is an anti-sway bar—or more accurately, an anti-roll bar—is designed to resist a vehicle’s tendency to roll during cornering. The bar is actually a torsion spring that tries to keep its shape by springing back into place whenever it twists. When one end of the bar rides up with the suspension, the other end pulls in the opposite direction. This keeps the vehicle level and more controlled during cornering.

When you’re ready to add or upgrade the anti-sway bars for your vehicle, Hellwig makes some really nice ones. They are larger than OEM bars to better control body roll. If you’re driving a car, that lets you hustle through the curves quicker. If you’re a truck guy, that means less drama when hauling or towing. Hellwig anti-sway bars are made in the USA.

Hellwig Standard Anti-Sway Bars are an easy bolt-on upgrade. They’re made from heat-treated 4140 spring steel and have a gray hammertone powdercoat finish. The bars can be solid or hollow depending on the application. Summit Racing has front and rear bars for many popular passenger cars and trucks. Bushings and mounting hardware are included.

Hellwig Tubular Motorsports Anti-Sway Bars are made from high-strength tubular DOM steel and are less than half the weight of a standard bar. All bends are computer-controlled, and the ends are tapered to eliminate stress and radiused for better clearance and a perfect fit. Rear anti-sway bars feature three-point adjustability and adjustable end links to dial in the amount of stiffness. Polyurethane bushings and heavy-duty zinc-plated hardware are included. Some drilling may be required for installation.

Hellwig Motorsports Solid Anti-Sway Bars are made from heat-treated 4140 chromoly steel. They have integral forged ends that are stronger than welded ends. Rear anti-sway bars feature three-point adjustability and adjustable end links to dial in the amount of stiffness. Polyurethane bushings and heavy-duty zinc plated hardware are included.

Carrying a big load? That extra weight puts extra stress on your suspension. Hellwig Big Wig Anti-Sway Bars provide maximum stability—up to a 20 percent improvement over factory when a truck is fully loaded. Even the hardware is heavy-duty for strength and durability. Hellwig Big Wig Anti-Sway Bars are available for many 1999-2020 three-quarter and one ton GM, Ford, and Dodge trucks.

Hellwig Off-Road Ready Anti-Sway Bars are designed to provide optimum ride quality and control in stock or mildly-lifted vehicles without sacrificing suspension travel. The bars have a mounting system that allows for improved ground clearance, maximum droop and compression, and can be adjusted so you can fine-tune the bars for your style of driving.
