Stuff a Cummins in Your GM Truck with Summit Racing™ Conversion Components
The 1989-2012 Cummins 6BT diesel engine as found in Dodge and Ram pickups is highly prized as swap bait for non-Mopar trucks, hot rods, and race cars. The engine is strong and reliable in stock form, has a huge base of aftermarket upgrades, and fits most anywhere an inline six cylinder will fit.
If you own a four-wheel drive 1973-87 GM square-body truck or 1973-91 Suburban and want to trade your gasoline engine or slug-like 6.2L diesel for a Cummins, Summit Racing now offers components to make the swap possible.
Summit Racing™ Cummins Conversion Engine Crossmember
This crossmember will drop a Cummins approximately two inches, which could save you the expense of buying a lift kit to get the engine to sit properly. The crossmember is direct bolt-in using the OEM crossmember mounting locations, and has plenty of metal for adding additional mounting bolts to increase rigidity. The crossmember has a durable black powdercoat finish.
Summit Racing™ GM to Cummins Engine Mounts
These block-mount engine mounts can be used with our Engine Crossmember or the factory crossmember if you modify it for oil pan clearance. The heavy-duty mounts will help reduce engine vibration too.
Summit Racing™ Cummins to GM Bellhousing Adapters
This kit mates the Cummins to a GM automatic transmission bellhousing a cinch. It allows the engine and transmission to sit straight in the truck, not at an angle. You get a billet aluminum adapter plate and a 141-tooth steel flexplate. You’ll need to get a starter for a 2003-06 Ford Powerstroke diesel and a set of flexplate bolts to make this deal work—you’ll find them under the ‘Required Parts’ tab. The kit fits bellhousings for GM TH-350/400, 700R-4, 4L60E and 4L80E, and Powerglide transmissions.
You can get also get a kit with a Summit Racing™ Torque Converter designed specifically for this swap. It comes with the Ford starter, starter bolts, and flexplate bolts; it won't work with 1998 and later 4L60E transmissions designed for LS engine applications.
