Another advantage that a Gen III Hemi has is weight—or more precisely, a lack thereof. According to published data, a 5.7L tips the scales at a svelte 533 pounds with all of its accessories attached, whereas the 426 Hemi weighs in at a portly 843 pounds. Elephant motor, indeed.

Engine Mount Brackets
Hooker Blackheart bolt-in engine mount brackets adapt the Gen III Hemi directly to a V8 B-Body’s factory K-member. The brackets place the engine for ideal firewall, transmission tunnel, and ground clearance, and to optimize driveline angles for a vibration-free dive. The brackets are fabricated from fully welded, zinc-plated steel to provide a strong, rigid foundation for your engine. Instructions and mounting hardware included. 

Transmission Crossmember
The Hooker Blackheart transmission crossmember allows the installation of an A-727 Torqueflite, NAG1 5-speed, and 8HP70 8-speed automatic transmission when used with the corresponding adapter plate (sold separately). No cutting or drilling is necessary—just bolt it in the OEM location using the supplied hardware. Driveline and U-joint alignment are preset to the corresponding transmission. Another great feature is that the crossmember uses the popular TH350/TH400 GM-style transmission mount for its compact design and increased ground clearance. The 3/16 inch steel crossmember also clears exhaust systems up to three inches in diameter. Instructions and mounting hardware included. 

Transmission Adapter Plates
These clever transmission adapter plates bolt directly to the OEM transmission mount location with the supplied hardware, and eliminate the daunting task of determining the correct drive line inclination and U-Joint operation angles. They also offer increased clearance over the OEM Chrysler design. 

Rear Exit Exhaust Systems
