TCI Machined and Forged Flexplates Will Live Behind Your High-Stress LS Engine
High RPM and high-stall torque converters put a lot of stress on drivetrain components, including the flexplate. A TCI Machined or Forged Flexplate can handle what your LS engine dishes out.
The flexplates are SFI 29.1 or SFI 29.2-approved depending on the application. They’re made from precision-ground, 1/4-inch thick A514 or A36 steel plate that is much thicker and stronger than the OEM flexplate material. The 168-tooth flexplates have a heavy-duty ring gear for added strength.
Summit Racing also carries TCI’s Lightweight Forged Flexplate for LS1 engines. Built to withstand 12,000-plus RPM, the SFI 29.2-approved flexplate has CNC-milled pockets and lightening holes to reduce rotating mass and decrease weight. Other features include a hobbed-on ring gear and robotic TIG-welded converter spacers.
TCI Machined and Forged Flexplates are available with six- and eight-bolt crank-to-flexplate configurations. There are versions to accommodate GM TH-350, TH-400, TH-700-R4/4L60, 4L60E, and 4L80E transmissions.
