These Tools from Summit Racing are the Better Way to Gap Spark Plugs, Cut Threads, and Paint Stuff

Everyone likes tools that are well-designed and make it easier to do the jobs they are intended for. We took a tour of the tool section in our warehouse and found three examples that prove our rule. Take a look and see for yourself.

Summit Racing™ Spark Plug Gapping Tool
When you have to have dead-nuts accurate spark plug gaps, you’ll need something better than one of those pocket plug gapping tools. This Summit Racing™ Spark Plug Gapping Tool is just the ticket. It’s easy to use—just put a spark plug in the billet aluminum tool, insert the desired feeler gauge blade between the plug tip and the center electrode, then turn the tool’s handle to squeeze the electrode and set the gap.

The Summit Racing Spark Plug Gapping Tool can be used with most spark plugs with thread sizes from 10mm to 16mm. It comes with a 32-blade feeler gauge set that ranges from 0.001 to 0.03-inch in .001-inch increments.

Milwaukee Tool Tap and Die Set with Hex-LOK Handle
This Milwaukee Tap and Die Set has a trick up its sleeve. The steel Hex-LOK 2-in-1 handle accepts both hex dies and the included tap collet, allowing you to cut both internal and external threads with the same tool. The dies and the collet simply snap into the handle with no tools required. And since the Hex-LOK handle uses standard one-inch hex dies, you can use the dies from your old tap and die sets. That will save you a few dollars.

Other features include:
• Black oxide-coated taps and dies with easy-to-read, laser-etched size markings
• Handle provides maximum balance and control when threading
• 5/16-inch, 27/64-inch, ‘F’, and #7 pilot hole drill bits included

The Milwaukee Tap and Die Set comes with the Hex-LOK handle, tap collet, a sliding T-handle, and taps and dies in these SAE sizes:
• 1/4"-20 NC
• 5/16"-18 NC
• 3/8"-16 NC
• 1/2"-13 NC

Titan Tools Rotating Parts Work Stand
Titan's Rotating Parts Work Stands sure beats the heck out of coat hangers to suspend parts for prep and painting. The stand has four adjustable-length suspension arms and four prop arms attached to a bar that can be rotated 350 degrees in 16 degree increments. This design makes it super-easy to set parts at the correct angle and height to get full primer or paint coverage, especially in all those nooks and crannies.

The Titan Tools Rotating Parts Work Stand has a 200-pound weight capacity so it can handle bigger parts like hoods, fenders, bumpers, and tailgates. It has two caster wheels so you can roll the stand and parts from the prep station to the spray booth.
