Trans Am Race Engineering Wheels Now Available at Summit Racing
If these Trans Am Race Engineering wheels remind you of the glory days of road racing, it’s no accident. The Australian company got its start in the 1980s making a version of the eight-spoke wheel run by American Trans Am racers in the 1960s and ‘70s—and thus the famous Superlite wheel was born. Proven in Australian Trans Am and historic racing, now you can get the same wheel here in the US of A.
All Trans Am Race Engineering wheels are gravity cast from A365.2 grade aluminum. The wheels are aged to T4 specs, then heat treated to T6 specifications. The wheels are machined and drilled, powdercoated, and given a diamond finished machined outer rim with a clear powdercoat finish.
You actually have three styles of Trans Am Race Engineering wheels to choose from:
• Original Superlite, available in 15 x 7, 15 x 8, 15 x 10, 17 x 8, and 17 x 9.5 in popular five-lug bolt patterns and backspacing. It comes silver powdercoated
• The Glen, patterned on the original wheel used in the American Trans Am wheel. It’s available in 15 x 7 and 15 x 8 sizes in popular five-lug bolt patterns and has a silver powdercoat finish
• The Sebring, a classic with five rounded spokes with a black powdercoat finish plus a machined lip. It is available in 15 x 8 only
