Tremec Magnum-F Six-Speed Transmissions: A Better Six-Speed for Your Fourth-Gen F-Body
Replacing a tired T-56 transmission in a fourth-gen Camaro or Firebird with a Tremec Magnum six-speed used to be a pain. The original Magnum shifter locations are too far forward, and the extended length Magnum XL's shifter locations are too far back. Tremec fixed the problem with the Magnum-F Transmission. It’s in-between size retains the factory shifter location without requiring an aftermarket torque arm relocation mount. The Magnum-F is also ideal for LS-swapped late model cars and sport compacts like Toyota A80 Supras and Mazda FD RX-7s.
The Magnum-F six-speeds are built to handle big power just like its Magnum cousins:
• 700 lbs.-ft. of torque capacity
• Double and triple cone synchronizers
• Enhanced webbing in the main case
• Isolator-type shifter reduces in-cabin noise and vibrations
• Short, low-effort shift throws with crisp, precise engagement
• Multiple shifter locations and dual speedo pickups for unmatched versatility
• Provisions for cooler circuit
Tremec Mangum-F Six-Speed Transmissions are available with a choice of two gear ratio sets:
First Gear Second Gear Third Gear Fourth Gear Fifth Gear Sixth Gear
2.97 2.10 1.40 1.00 0.74 0.50
2.66 1.78 1.30 1.00 0.80 0.63
