Trick Flow R-Series® Tunnel Wedge Intake Manifold: Ford's Awesome FE Intake Made Better
Originally available in the late 1960s as an over-the-counter dealership part, the Tunnel Wedge dual quad intake manifold was likely the most advanced multiple-carburetor intake Ford ever made for the Ford FE engine. The medium-rise Tunnel Wedge had an air gap below the runners to help keep the air and fuel cooler just like many modern intake manifolds do.
Trick Flow’s R-Series Tunnel Wedge manifold maintains the appearance and carburetor locations of the OEM intake, but has a modern port design to flow more air than the original Tunnel Wedge, improving power production in the 4,000 to 7,500 RPM range. The R-Series also has an updated O-ring sealed valley cover plate to keep oil where it belongs.
The Trick Flow R-Series Tunnel Wedge intake manifold requires the use of the OEM carburetors designed for factory Ford FE dual quad intake manifolds as their vacuum ports are positioned to clear the throttle linkage. You can use C4AF-9510-CU-CV (highrise) or C5AF-9510-BC-BD (Fairlane/Thunderbolt) Holley 4160 carburetors.
