Wilwood Big Brake Disc Brake Kits: More Stopping Power for JL Wranglers

Depending on the factory brakes to stop a Jeep JL Wrangler with gnarly tires, a big lift kit, or both is an iffy proposition. Better to get a set of bigger brakes like Wilwood’s Aerolite 6R front and Superlite 4R rear Big Brake Kits and be sure you can stop safely.

Both kits are available with your choice of two-piece, 14 inch diameter rotors:

SRP rotors are drilled and slotted to reduce pad glazing, dissipate gases and heat, and reduce pad compound buildup on the rotor faces. That means smoother engagement and improved pedal response in all conditions.

Spec 37 GT rotors are made from a proprietary iron alloy developed to withstand extreme temperatures and resist distortion, warping, cracking, and wear. The rotors have an asymmetrical slot pattern to dissipate gas and heat.

The kits also include Wilwood SmartPad BP-10 brake pads. They combine the stopping power of a semi-metallic compound with the low noise/low dust benefits of a street-oriented compound, making them an excellent choice for a street-driven Wrangler that also sees trail use. The BP-10 pads bed quickly and provide fast braking response without excessive abrasion.

Wilwood Big Brake Kits for Jeep JL Wranglers are fully compatible with the factory ABS and electronic controls, and come with the necessary mounting brackets, DOT-approved braided stainless steel flex lines, and hardware.

Aerolite 6R Front Brake Kits
These kits feature Wilwood’s Aerolite 6R calipers with forged aluminum bodies and six stainless steel pistons for superior clamping efficiency and strength.

Superlite 4R Rear Brake Kits
These kits come with Superlite 4R calipers that feature forged aluminum bodies and four stainless steel pistons. You also get a drum-style parking brake assembly that fits on the factory axle hub.
