Anderson to Capitalize on Personal History at NHRA Sonoma Nationals

Summit Racing Pro Stock driver Greg Anderson has a reason to be confident heading into this weekend's 27th annual NHRA Sonoma Nationals. He has his best qualifying performance of the season at last weekend’s Mopar Mile-High Nationals, and on proved his driving capabilities on race day by getting the jump on his competitors at the starting line.

Add in the fact that Anderson is the winningest Pro Stock driver at Sonoma Raceway and most of the key ingredients are present for a great weekend. Anderson driver has won a record four times at Sonoma Raceway, most recently in 2011. The 74-time national event victor is coming to Sonoma with his first win of the season at the top of the to-do list.

"We're very, very much looking forward to getting to Sonoma," said Anderson. “We love that race track--we've always run well there. With what we think we've learned in the last week or so, we really feel like we're set up to run well there again. The KB Racing crew feels 100% positive about going there and that the Summit Racing Chevrolet Camaros are going to haul.”

Anderson has made two final round appearances this year despite a belated start to the season following heart surgery Last weekend he made up ground in the battle to break into the Countdown to the Championship. Currently 23 points out of the Top 10, Anderson is on course to arrive at his intended destination.

"We picked up a round win in Denver last weekend, and that counts for a lot right now," said Anderson. "We have to win races. We simply have to. We're very positive about what we did last week in Denver and how things turned out. We really feel like the Summit Racing team is going to run well at Sonoma, and I'll be completely shocked if we don't. It will be great to get back to sea level, and I really think we will shine."

"After this weekend's race, my teammate Jason Line and I are going to Summit Racing’s facility in Reno, Nevada for the Hot August Nights show,” Anderson continued. “All the brass from Summit Racing will be there, and hopefully we'll have a trophy to show off."
