Fat n’ Furious: Rolling Thunder Cast Steps Up for the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge
Awhile ago, Summit Racing was called out by our buddy Rutledge Wood to do the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. The Challenge came about to promote awareness of ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), often referred to as Lou Gehrig's Disease after the famous New York Yankee baseball player who contracted it in the 1930s.
We of course accepted Mr. Wood’s challenge. Eleven Summit Racing employees volunteered to be doused with ice water, and we made a donation to the ALS Foundation. You read the story and watch the video here.
We also called out our friends of Discovery Channel’s Fat N’ Furious: Rolling Thunder TV show to step up and get a dunking for a good cause. The cast of the show— Tommy Christmas, Chuck Kountz, Steve McGranahan, and Andy Pivarnik—came to Summit Racing’s world headquarters in Tallmadge, Ohio and fulfilled their Ice Bucket Challenge obligation. They also made a generous donation to the ALS Association.
Not ones to pass up an opportunity, the Fat N’ Furious crew called out some folks to do the Challenge, including Gas Monkey Garage’s Richard Rawlings and Aaron Kaufmann from Fast N’ Loud.
Summit Racing has also called out BIGFOOT monster truck driver Ron Bachmann and the crew from Summit Racing Motorsports Park to do the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. We’ll let you know when they step up to the plate.
In the meantime, enjoy the video of the Fat N’ Furious Ice Bucket Challenge. You can also see the post on the Fat N' Furious Facebook page.
