Horsepower Wars $10K Shootout: The Madness Begins
The teams have been chosen--and Power Automedia's $10K Drag Shootout ihas officially begin. Cue 'Yakety Sax' music, please.
The $10K Drag Shootout features three teams--Team Stinky Pinky, Team Bigun, and Team Boddie--plus the 'Dream Team' sponsored by COMP Cams. Each team will get $3,000 to buy a car, a $7,000 Summit Racing parts budget, and 10 days to build that car. The teams will face off at the 'Shakedown at the Summit' event, September 13-16 at Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio, for all the marbles.
All the teams were gathered at Horsepower Wars Central to begin the competition. The first order of business was to choose a car from a wonderful selection of (barely) rolling iron:
* 1965 Ford Falcon
* 1986 Camaro
* 1995 Camaro Z28
* 1986 Ford Mustang
* 1990 Ford Mustang
* 1984 Buick Regal
But it wasn't as simple as drawing straws or rock-paper-scissors to see who would get first pick. Instead, the teams had to compete in the $10K Olympics, a series of hilarious challenges that would determine the pecking order for choosing the cars. We laughed, we cried, then laughed some more.
And that's all we're gonna tell you. To find out how the teams fared in the $10K Olympics and who got which car--you'll have to watch the $10K Drag Shootout video at Horsepowerwars.com. Be prepared to giggle uncontrollably.
You can keep up with all of the $10K shenanigans at the Horsepower Wars website and at our OnAllCylinders blog.
