Line Second in Countdown Points After Carolina Nationals

Jason Line is second in the Pro Stock points standings in the Countdown to the Championship after the NTK NHRA Carolina Nationals in Concord, North Carolina.

In Round One of eliminations, Line faced Shane Tucker. Tucker took the win on the holeshot with a .005 second reaction time and 6.574 second/209.01 MPH pass to Line’s (.123 RT) 6.544/211.36.

“This was a tough day, for sure,” said Line. “But that just makes us hungry to get to the next race and do better.”

Teammate Greg Anderson also went out in the first round against Aaron Stanfield. Although Anderson’s run was a faster 6.549/211.99, Stanfield had the better reaction time (.041 to Anderson’ .096) and took the win on his 6.559/210.90 pass.

“It’s disappointing,” said Anderson. “But, we’ve got three more opportunities to make positive moves forward and finish the year strong. That’s what we’re going to focus on.”

Anderson is currently eighth in the Pro Stock points standings.

Tim Wilkerson, driver of the Levi, Ray and Shoup Ford Shelby Mustang Nitro Funny Car had two quick passes on race day.

In Round One of eliminations, Wilkerson’s 3.898/325.77 pass was his best of the weekend, defeating Shawn Langdon’s tire smoking 5.386/137.25.

In Round Two, Wilk’s 3.923/324.28 pass was faster than Robert Hight’s, 3.929/324.67, but his .102 reaction time was not. Hight took the win on the holeshot with his .077 RT.

“The good news is our car is running well now,” said Wilkerson. “The car made some nice runs. We’re looking forward to Dallas next weekend.”

Wilkerson is tenth in the Funny Car points standings.
