Summit Racing Equipment to be Title Sponsor for 2019 American Endurance Racing Season
We’re happy to announce that Summit Racing will be the title sponsor for the American Endurance Racing (AER) 2019 season.
“AER is well-known as ‘the racers choice’ because of its commitment to safety on the track and having the most green-flag racing of any series today,” said Jim Greenleaf, Summit Racing Equipment’s Motorsports and Event Manager.
“Summit Racing Equipment is the ideal title sponsor for AER,” said John Kolesa, President of American Endurance Racing. “It will provide all of our racers with access to the best equipment and experts in the industry, enabling them to compete at the highest levels of endurance racing”
AER has quickly become one of the most grueling and fulfilling motorsports competitions. Amateur and professional racers share the track running almost any production-based race car they like. Composed of five classes—1 being the slowest, 5 being the fastest—each AER event features two nine-hour races completed on back-to-back days. Vehicle preparation, fueling strategy, and driver skill is pushed to the limits during each race.
Teams are classed via AER’s unique classing system that compares each team’s drivers’ qualifying times to one another. This means the race field is not only diverse, but also incredibly fair with little to no debate as to which cars belong in each class.
Our friends at Grassroots Motorsports Magazine did a story that explains American Endurance Racing in great detail—you can read at grassrootsmotorsports.com.
AER’s 2019 season begins February 15-17 at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta near Atlanta, Georgia. Other events are:
• April 12-14: Watkins Glen International, Watkins Glen, NY
• May 17-19: New Jersey Motorsports Park, Millville, NJ
• June 14-16: Palmer Motorsports Park, Palmer, MA
• September 13-15: Summit Point Motorsports Park, Summit Point, WV
• October 18-20: Mid-Ohio Sportscar Course, Lexington, OH
• November 15-17: Pittsburgh International Race Complex, Wampum, PA
