Wilkerson Looks Forward to Summit Racing NHRA Nationals

Tim Wilkerson, driver of the Levi, Ray and Shoup Ford Shelby Mustang Nitro Funny Car, faced challenges at the NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals at Bristol Dragway.

During qualifying, Wilkerson had difficulty making a clean pass on the track due to a tricky racing surface and mechanical bugs.

"Unfortunately, we just were plagued with dumb things this weekend," said Wilkerson.

In Round One of eliminations, Wilkerson made a good run, but his 4.063 second/310.48 MPH pass wasn’t enough to defeat Jack Beckman’s 4.031/318.47.

"Right now we're really looking forward to making our way to Norwalk for the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals," said Wilkerson.

Wilkerson remains eighth in the Funny Car points standings.

Final Round Results
Top Fuel—Mike Salinas (3.836/325.69) defeated Steve Torrence (3.892/287.60)

Funny Car—Bob Tasca III (4.008/316.23) defeated John Force (4.155/287.72)
